Porsche 911 named Car of the Year

The Porsche 911 has been awarded top prizes in the annual News UK Motor Awards. These recognitions come in the same year Porsche celebrates 60 years of 911 and 75 years since Ferry Porsche first built the sports car of his dreams. 

The 911 Sport Classic has been crowned as ‘Car of the Year’ by the Sunday times, with the whole 911 model range winning ‘The Legend Award’ from The Sun. The 911 Sport Classic is a product of Exclusive Manufaktur, reviving the style of the 1960s and 70s to resemble the original 911. Motoring editor from The Sun stated, “It’s so good it has roared away with our overall Car of the Year prize”. The Legend Award celebrates models that have become automotive icons in the UK. No one could have predicted the driving dynamics, everyday usability and distinctive shape that would go on to make the 911 an icon when it was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963.

Each 911 model stays true to its roots of a rear-engine sports car combining extraordinary driving dynamics with effortless style and everyday practicality.
